Make smarter decisions

FundsSentinel isn’t here to manage your money for you. It helps you understand it, so you can take control.

Build better habits

WHY IT’S DIFFERENT

We want you to build the habit, not the dependancy.

It won't auto-connect to your bank or budget for you. You log as you go — and that's the point. The awareness you build by hand is what actually puts you back in control.

Most apps do the work for you - we hand you the controls.

Real financial confidence isn't automated — it's learned. FundsSentinel is the early-warning system and the practice field, not the autopilot. The goal isn't an app you depend on. It's a habit you keep.

Your data stays with you.

Everything lives on your device.

Nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and no company — including us — can ever see a cent.

Nothing to breach, because nothing ever leaves your phone.

Why I Built FundsSentinel

It started with a spreadsheet, more than twenty years ago.

On paper, I was doing well — earning above-average money, the kind of income that’s supposed to mean you don’t have to worry. And yet I kept running into the same wall: shortfalls. Moments where the money wasn’t there when I needed it, even though I couldn’t understand how that was possible. Each one brought a wave of stress, and that stress led to exactly the wrong decisions — patching one gap by creating another, leaning on debt I didn’t fully see coming, and slowly falling further behind. The harder part wasn’t the money itself. It was not seeing it coming.

So I built myself a spreadsheet. Not to track what I’d already spent — every tool did that — but to look forward. To project where my balance would actually be in two weeks, in a month, and to catch the shortfall while there was still time to do something about it. That one shift, from looking backward to looking ahead, changed everything. The surprises stopped. The stress eased. And slowly, the habits that had kept me stuck started to change.

For two decades I refined that spreadsheet — through real life, real mistakes, and real lessons about how money behaves and how people behave around it. FundsSentinel is the result. It’s everything I learned, rebuilt into something simple enough for anyone to use.

The deeper story behind those lessons is one I share in my book, Seeing the Road Ahead: A Memoir About Money, My Father, and Learning to Look Up. While FundsSentinel helps you see your financial future, the book explores the experiences that taught me why looking ahead matters in the first place.

I built it because I needed it. I’m sharing it because I know I’m not the only one who’s ever stared at a decent paycheck and still felt that quiet dread of not knowing if they’d make it to the end of the month.

Built for Everyone

Money is one of the few things that affects every member of the household. Whether you're managing your own finances, with your partner, teaching your teenager about budgeting, or working toward a shared family goal, staying on the same page makes all the difference.

Know you’ll be okay

FundsSentinel looks forward, not backward. It projects your balance day by day and shows you a shortfall weeks before it lands — while there's still time to move a payment, hold off on a purchase, or pick up a shift. You'll see the lowest your balance will get and exactly when, so the constant "am I going to be okay this month?" worry turns into a plan you can actually act on.

Get on the same page, without hard conversations

Money is one of the things couples argue about most, and most of those arguments come from surprises and mismatched assumptions. FundsSentinel gives you both a shared, honest picture of what's coming — the bills, the income, and the date things get tight — so you're planning around the same facts instead of guessing. It turns "why did you spend that?" into "here's what we've got room for." A calm, neutral forecast you can both look at that takes the heat out of the conversation.

Learn to see money coming before it's gone

The habit that protects you for life is simple: knowing what's ahead before you spend. FundsSentinel is a gentle, private way for a teen to learn that — log what comes in and goes out, and watch how today's choices change next week's balance. There's no bank account to link and nothing shared with a company, so it's a safe practice field. It builds real financial awareness by doing, not lecturing — the kind of foresight most people don't pick up until they've already been burned.

Remove the surprise

A household has the most moving parts — irregular income, school costs, the quarterly bills that ambush you. FundsSentinel maps all of it onto one forward-looking view, so the family can see the tight weeks before they arrive and plan around them together. No more discovering a shortfall at the worst possible moment. It's the early-warning system that lets a family spend, save, and breathe with confidence — the calm that comes from knowing the road ahead.
